Charlie Guest

Skiing has been Charlie's lifelong obsession and she had her first taste at the age of 3 on the slopes of Cairngorm in the Scottish Highlands near her grandmother’s home in Nethy Bridge. Charlie trained there with the Scottish Ski Club until she joined the British Ski Academy in France at 11. Over the past 10 years, she has progressed though the British system and at 14 became the first British girl to win an international children’s race, before moving up into FIS racing as part of the Scottish Alpine Ski Team.

After leaving school in 2012 and becoming a full time athlete, Charlie has spent the majority of her time training and racing in Austria. In 2013 she made her World Cup debut followed by her debut World Championships at Beaver Creek in February 2015.

In November 2014, Charlie suffered a near career ending training crash which resulted in 4 fractured vertebrae. She has been able to build back up to making Europa Cup points over both Slalom and Giant Slalom as well as taking home 4 of the last 5 British National Championship Slalom titles. The real highlight of Charlie's career so far came from her debut Olympic games in PyeongChang 2018 where she placed 33rd in the slalom and was part of the team placing 5th in the inaugural Team Event .

Charlie works closely with the Scottish Institute of Sport who provides world class support across all areas of strength and conditioning, nutrition and physiotherapy. She is looking forward to continuing her progress from the last couple of years over the next 12 months as part of the Ladies World Cup Team. Ultimately Charlie aims to be stepping onto an Olympic Podium as part of Team GB."
